The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia opened in 1821 as the first school of pharmacy in North America. Although its curriculum has broadened since then, the University of the Sciences still has a highly ranked Doctor of Pharmacy program and a campus museum specifically about the history of pharmacy. Student athletes can play intramural sports or try out for the USciences Devils varsity teams, which participate in the NCAA Division II Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
