All full-time undergraduates under 21 are required to live on campus – unless they commute from a parent’s home or are married, among other exemptions – and freshmen can choose to live exclusively with other learners in their class through the school’s First-Year Residential Experience program. (Other freshmen may live among sophomores, juniors and seniors.)

SUNY—Oswego has more than 150 clubs and organizations for learners to consider, as well as sports teams, known as the Lakers, that participate in the NCAA Division III State University of New York Athletic Conference. The school’s hometown, Oswego, is situated on Lake Ontario and is about 40 miles from the city of Syracuse, home to Syracuse University. Graduate learners interested in SUNY—Oswego can check out programs at the School of Business. Among the many notable graduates of SUNY—Oswego are Al Roker, weatherman on the “Today” show, and ESPN sportscaster Steve Levy. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld attended SUNY—Oswego before transferring to Queens College.
