Juilliard School is a private institution that was started in 1905. It uses a semester-based academic year. Its tuition/fees are $49,510.
The Juilliard School focuses exclusively on artistic education, offering pre-professional training in music, dance, and drama. Though the application process varies by academic department, learners often need to audition for entrance into Juilliard. High school GPAs and class ranks arent required for admission. Once at Juilliard, all learners will take courses in the liberal arts, in addition to courses specific to their major.
Freshmen are required to live in university residence halls in New York City. After the first year, housing isnt guaranteed. There are a variety of student organizations to check out after class, including Rag Times, the student newspaper, and the Chess Club. learners also convene for annual events such as the Halloween Dance and Spring Block Party. Among the scores of notable Juilliard alumni are actors Robin Williams and Kevin Spacey and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
