Vanguard University of Southern California is a Pentecostal school in Costa Mesa, about 50 miles south of Los Angeles. Undergraduates at Vanguard can choose from about 20 majors, and graduate learners can earn master’s degrees in education, religion, nursing or psychology. Outside the classroom, many Vanguard learners spread their faith through local outreach projects that help the homeless, youth and elderly of Orange County. On campus, although there are no fraternities or sororities, learners can get involved in more than 10 clubs, including the Student Government Association.

Student athletes can join one of the Vanguard Lions varsity sports teams, which participate in the Golden State Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Many learners at Vanguard spend their free time enjoying Costa Mesa’s mild weather and convenient location. The Vanguard campus is only minutes away from two different zoos, several shopping centers, Newport Beach and Disneyland. An hour’s drive takes learners to Los Angeles, which offers numerous museums and professional teams in almost every sport.
